Disciplinary decision(s) on record
The disciplinary decision is rendered by Discipline Committee, which is responsible for imposing penalties on brokers or agencies found guilty of a violation of the Real Estate Brokerage Act. Following the disciplinary hearing, the offender who has been found guilty could receive various penalties, including suspension or revocation of his licence, or the imposition of conditions or restrictions on his licence. The disciplinary decisions are also available on the Soquij's website at https://citoyens.soquij.qc.ca. Please note that there may be a processing time of a few days before posting a decision online.
IMPORTANT: It's possible to find two decisions in one case – one declaring the defendant guilty and the other about the penalty. Unlike notices, decisions remain available even after the end of the measure imposed. It's important to read the entire decision.

Monetary Administrative Penalties
In the cases provided for under the Real Estate Brokerage Act or its regulations, the OACIQ may impose a Monetary Administrative Penalty (MAP) on a broker or agency. A MAP is a coercive measure that the OACIQ can use to repress certain technical offences. A MAP is an effective enforcement tool to protect the public, supplementing other means such as the disciplinary or penal process.

Licence holders are required to obtain a number of continuing education units over a two-year period, in accordance with the Mandatory Continuing Education Program in force.
